The work addresses haircut as a ritual act, strongly connected to a woman's experience. A ritual is a ceremony consisting of a series of performed acts. Manipulation of hair through haircuts is very common in the rituals of different cultures. A symbolic haircut marks a person's transition from one state to another. The ritual act is based on the idea of ‘transformation’. Pruning, new hairstyles, makeovers, washing, combing - their purpose is to alternate the form. Frequent haircuts or or other changes in your physical condition are widely used when trying to overcome trauma as a way of coping. It is believed, that it is possible to renounce the traumatic past in this way, by practicing this act of ''liberation'' for spiritual ''cleansing''.
